Dear Friends,
On behalf of Sant Pere Pescador Municipal Council, I would like to welcome you to our new municipal website and provide you here with a brief introduction.
We are determined to make the site a practical tool for all residents and visitors alike, who are looking for information about the village, so that they can find the information that interests them in an enjoyable and flexible way.
The idea of the website is quite simply to try to bring modern information and communication technology within reach for everybody and thus help people to participate in the everyday life of the village. For this reason our aim is to turn the website into an example of e-administration, whereby little by little, you will be able to carry out “virtually” more and more administrative procedures that at the moment can only be completed at the council offices (for instance: arranging to pay council taxes and rates by bank transfer).
We see new technology as a chance to increase our quality of life, by helping people to save time (a commodity that these days is worth its weight in gold!) and by improving the services offered by the Council, while also acting as an essential tool for promoting the village in every respect.
We wish to create a meeting-point and a dynamic site for exchanging information for everybody who is interested in getting to know more about Sant Pere Pescador and its inhabitants: agriculture in general and the cultivation of fruit in particular; the sea; the beach; the river; the natural environment we form part of, together with the Empordà Marshes Nature Reserve (the “Aiguamolls”); our local cuisine; water-sports; and family tourism, of which the most obvious examples are the camping and rural tourism sectors, for which, moreover, we have an international reputation for providing top-quality service. All this gives a good idea of what you will find on the website.
